Privacy Policy

Last updated 4 August 2026

This policy explains what DEMSO DIAMOND DRILLING AND SAWING LTD does with the personal information you give us through this website, and what your rights are. We are the data controller for that information.

Who we are

DEMSO DIAMOND DRILLING AND SAWING LTD is a company registered in England and Wales, company number 08716205. Our registered office is 193 Cambridge Street, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, HP20 1BQ.

If you have a question about this policy or about your information, email us at enquiries@demso.co.uk.

What we collect

If you fill in the enquiry form, we collect your name, email address, and the message you write. You can also give us a phone number and tell us which service you are asking about, but neither is required.

If you allow analytics cookies, we also collect anonymous statistics about how the site is used: which pages are read, roughly where in the world the visit came from, and what kind of device it was on. None of that identifies you to us by name. We use no advertising cookies at all, and we do not run a mailing list.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

We use what you send us to answer your enquiry, to quote for work, and to carry out that work if you go ahead. Our lawful basis is that the processing is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract, and, where no contract follows, our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us about our services.

We do not use your details for marketing, and we do not sell or share them with anyone for their own purposes.

Who processes it for us

A few suppliers handle your information on our behalf, under contract and on our instructions only:

  • Vercel

Hosts this website. Server logs, including IP addresses, are generated as part of serving the pages.

  • Amazon Web Services

Delivers the enquiry emails through Amazon SES, in an EU region.

  • Google

Provides reCAPTCHA, which tells human visitors apart from automated ones, and Google Analytics, which reports how the site is used. Google sets cookies and collects device and usage information for both purposes, under its own privacy policy. Neither is loaded unless you have switched that purpose on.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry emails for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and any work that follows from it, and afterwards for as long as we have a legal or business reason to, such as our accounting records. When there is no longer a reason to keep them, we delete them.

Cookies

This website sets no cookies of its own, and none at all for advertising. The only cookies are Google’s, and they fall into two groups that are treated differently because the law treats them differently.

  • Spam protection (strictly necessary, no consent asked)

Google reCAPTCHA protects our enquiry form from automated abuse. It runs when you press Send. Because it exists to deliver a service you are actively asking for, it counts as strictly necessary, so we do not ask permission for it and you cannot switch it off while still using the form. We tell you about it here instead, which is what the rules require.

  • Analytics (your choice, off until you say otherwise)

Google Analytics tells us which pages people read so we know what is worth writing more about. It is not necessary for anything you came here to do, so it is never loaded until you say yes, and refusing is one click.

If you refuse analytics, nothing about this site changes, including the enquiry form. You can change that answer at any time using the cookie link in the footer.

We remember your answer in your browser’s local storage rather than in a cookie, so recording a refusal does not itself store anything you have not agreed to.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict how we use it, and object to us using it. Where our basis is legitimate interests, you can object at any time.

Email enquiries@demso.co.uk and we will deal with it. If you are not happy with how we have handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and change the date at the top of it.
