About ferroscanning
DEMSO can carry out a ferroscanning service to read the make-up of any concrete structure.
We can scan for reinforcement to a depth of 300mm, giving a readout of reinforcement size, depth of cover and whether deterioration has occurred. On walls or slabs thicker than 180mm, we can scan from both sides to get a complete readout of the structural reinforcement.
The service is often used to avoid cutting rebar when forming diamond drilled holes through structures, and to investigate cracks where moisture has attacked the reinforcement.
On completion of the scan, the information gathered is downloaded and a detailed report of the findings is provided.
